One of Australia's most beautiful women has become a single woman.

After six years together, Miss Universe Australia, Perth's Renae Ayris has split up with her long-term love, miner Sam Doyle.

Doyle accompanied Ayris, 22, and her family to the international Miss Universe final in December where she finished third runner-up.

After landing the Australian title in June last year, Ayris said Doyle — a fly-in fly-out mine worker — was "overwhelmed but proud" of his girlfriend winning the 2012 Miss Universe Australia crown.

"I think he's even more overwhelmed than me," she said.

"He's very supportive. Obviously, with my modelling, he's already seen a bit of my face around, so he's used to that."
