Controversial rapper *Lupe Fiasco *'s performance at a pre-inauguration party held for US President *Barack Obama * was cut short after he was heard rapping anti-Obama rants on stage.
The outspoken performer was headlining the event in Washington DC - which was held before the public inauguration celebrations attended by a raft of stars including *Beyonce *, *Jay-Z *, *Katy Perry *, *Lady Gaga *and *Eva Longoria * - and midway through his performance was asked by security to step off the stage.
In video footage that has surfaced online, Fiasco is heard rapping: "Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist, Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say s , That's why I ain't vote for him, Next one either, I'm part of the problem, My problem is I'm peaceful."
According to eyewitnesses at the event, Fiasco had continued on with the rant for 30 minutes and refused to move on to another song.
However, organisers insisted that the rapper's performance was not cut short because of his strongly worded political rant.
They claimed to be "staunch supporters of free speech and free political speech" and said that Fiasco was removed from the stage because of his "jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied".
This prompted them to "move on to the next act".
The video was reportedly filmed at Sunday night's pre-inauguration party.
It's not the first time Fiasco has openly hit out at Mr Obama.
In 2011 he made headlines after slamming the president's stance on foreign policy, where he branded him a terrorist.
