Les Miserables actor Russell Crowe has again been forced to clarify rumours about his love life over social media.

The New York Post reported yesterday that the 48-year-old was spotted at a New York hotel with burlesque star Dita Von Teese, where it was claimed that the two enjoyed an intimate in-room couples massage session.

However, Crowe has since set the rumours straight, today tweeting: "@DitaVonTeese is brave, smart, sweet and elegant. She is a friend of mine. Who wouldn't want friends like that? Friends, not lovers."

It's not the first time the father-of-two - who split from wife Danielle Spencer last year - has had to set straight media reports about his love life.

In response to rumours that he was getting cosy with Billy Joel's ex-wife Katie Lee, Crowe tweeted that the stories were "false" and "cruel".
