Seven and Shine Australia have confirmed a two-part TV series about the Australian band INXS.

Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS will concentrate on the six members of the band and trace their rise to the top, the network said in a statement.

It will look at the artistic and emotional relationship at the heart of INXS, that of Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss, the statement said.

The series will be filmed in Melbourne in 2013.

Besides the mini-series, two feature biopics of the late Hutchence are also in production.
