Just 10 weeks ago, Samantha Jade faced the possibility of another setback to her pop career.
She was one of the first top 12 contestants on talent show The X Factor up for elimination, after an earlier shot at singing stardom with US record label Jive did not pan out.
But the Morley-raised singer is now preparing to release her debut self-titled album on December 7 with record label Sony after being crowned this year's winner of the smash-hit Seven show in Sydney on Tuesday.
"Oh my gosh, I was in absolute shock - I still am this morning," the 25-year-old told _The West Australian _ yesterday in one of many interviews she gave.
"I've gained so much of my confidence back. This is an absolute dream come true. It sounds cheesy but dreams really do come true if you work hard.
"I hope that, for everybody that has ever been knocked back, I can inspire them to come back again and give it another go."
Jade will be in Perth on December 12 for an in-store appearance at Whitford City Shopping Centre.
Jade's winner's single What You've Done To Me was at No. 1 on the iTunes chart yesterday.
