Catriona Rowntree has reportedly been let go by Nine after 20 years with the network where she hosted popular shows including Getaway.
The 41-year-old, below, joined Nine in 1992 as a researcher and became Getaway presenter, one of TV's most sought-after roles at the time, in 1996. She was also touted as a possible replacement for Nine's morning show following the departure of Kerri-Anne Kennerley.
With reports Getaway is about to be axed after 18 years because of low ratings, the decision was made not to renew Rowntree's contact.
Her departure from Nine follows that of fellow Getaway presenter Jules Lund and 60 Minutes reporter Liam Bartlett last week.Meanwhile, Nine's golden boy Karl Stefanovic has had his contract (reportedly set at $850,000 a year) renewed for three years, with the Gold Logie winner remaining co-host of Today but with an increased presence on 60 Minutes.
