The promoters of Summadayze have confirmed that the popular annual dance festival will be held at Patersons Stadium next year for the first time.
While the full line-up is due to be unveiled tomorrow, The West Australian can reveal that groundbreaking English electronic artist M.I.A. will be among the headliners at the football ground in January.
Born Mathangi Arulpragasam in London of Sri Lankan Tamil descent, the award-winning Bad Girls and Paper Planes singer is an outspoken advocate for refugee rights. She last played in Australia on the 2011 Big Day Out tour.
Summadayze will be held in the stadium and the adjacent Kitchener Park on Sunday, January 6. The shift to a new venue from its previous home on the Perth Esplanade was prompted by the waterfront development.Tickets go on sale on September 20 from Ticketmaster and the usual outlets.
