It looks as though Russell Crowe is weathering the Icelandic conditions.
In a first-look photograph from his new film Noah, Crowe is seen dressed in a rustic hand-stitched hessian outfit, peering over his shoulder into the distance.
The Gladiator star, who plays the leading character Noah in the biblical epic, appears to have immersed himself in the role and set the tone for the film.
With a long lock of hair falling over his furrowed brow and a grey-speckled beard, Crowe's character looks ready for the ark-building challenge ahead of him.
The Darren Aronofsky-directed film, which is shooting in Iceland, also stars Harry Potter star Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) and Logan Lermon (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief). With the sun setting for only a few hours per day in August, it's the ideal time to shoot the film, which is due for release in Australia in 2014.
