Tickets for One Direction's Perth shows have sold out in just six minutes, despite the performances being more than a year away.

The British-Irish boyband, which includes members Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, will perform at the new Perth Arena on September 28 and 29 next year.

Tickets have sold out for 22 of the young quintet's shows in Australia and New Zealand.

One Direction tickets were the first to go on sale for the new entertainment centre.
