Perth film music band *Viola Dana *has turned to the crowd-funding site Pozible to help it raise money for an American tour that includes an invitation to perform its original soundtrack live at a screening of Buster Keaton's classic silent film The General at the Toronto Silent Film Festival next April. Viola Dana, named after a starlet of the silver screen, premiered its soundtrack for the 1926 feature-length comedy at the 2009 Revelation Perth International Film Festival. Guitarist Mace Francis said the tour would be an invaluable experience with the chance to meet filmmakers, composers, festival directors and like-minded people at a silent film festival. The ensemble is looking to raise $4000 from supporters who make a pledge in return for rewards ranging from souvenirs to concerts at the donor's home. Details: violadana.pozible.com
