Pop star Katy Perry says she almost landed a role opposite Emma Stone and Viola Davis in the film The Help.
The Firework singer has told Teen Vogue magazine she was in talks for a part in the hit period movie but her recording schedule forced her to turn it down.
"There was a time when I was going to be involved in The Help. Just a small part; I wasn't going to be Emma Stone or anything, but I couldn't because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record," Perry said.
"I was upset about that. I knew it was going to be an important film. Not that I need to do drama first but I do want to do something that makes a strong impression."
Perry refused to speculate on what role she may have been offered in the movie, which landed an Oscar nomination for Best Film.Perry made her acting debut in US TV comedy How I Met Your Mother last year.
