Venus 0+ Dave Callan

It's the comedian's staple – the differences between men and women. And Dave Callan's show Venus 0+ (that's the symbol for "women" on its side) demonstrates that although the subject may be well-explored, the battle of the sexes is always fertile ground for comedy.

The premise of this show is Callan having asked 100 women 100 questions. Ranging from the ridiculous (Do you have six fingers on your right hand?) to the serious (Do you think you are attractive?) Callan explores the peculiarities, hopes, fears and thoughts of the fairer sex.

With the help of a power point presentation Callan takes the audience through the survey and the answers of his subjects. He has been helped out by some very funny women whose answers provided the big laughs of the night.

Callan's deadpan delivery and gentle manner make this show a joy to watch, in rougher hands it could have come across as crass but Callan has somehow managed to put together a show which celebrates women in a way which would work just as well in front of an audience of blokey tradies as a hen's night.

And a final dance number – think a modern day girly anthem – replete with professional back up dancers, is a winner.
