US actress and comedian Sarah Silverman will perform her first Australian stand-up comedy shows later this year.

Silverman will appear at the Sydney Opera House on November 30 and Melbourne's Palais Theatre on December 8.

Emmy winner Sarah Silverman has a repertoire that includes film and television, stand-up comedy and online videos.

And she recently became an author with her New York Times best-selling book, The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee.

Tickets for her two Australian shows go on sale on October 15.
