Rare Romantics

STEPHEN BEVIS, The West Australian July 13, 2012, 11:52 am

The Fremantle Chamber Orchestra performs rarely heard works by such Baroque and Romantic giants as Handel, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn and Rachmaninoff at the Perth and Fremantle town halls this weekend.

Handel's upbeat Concerto Grosso No. 1, opens the program, which includes Dvorak's romantic Lento from his string quintet No. 1 and closes with Corelli's Concerto Grosso No. 4.

Conducted by Christopher van Tuinen, the FCO performs at the Fremantle Town Hall tomorrow at 3pm and the Perth Town Hall on Sunday at 3pm.

Book at BOCS.
