Daniel Craig will become the highest-paid James Bond actor after signing on for two more films as the famous British spy.
Craig, 44, who was in Australia last week driving the release of Skyfall, will be paid £31 million ($48 million) to star in two more titles of the 50-year-old franchise, Britain's The Sunday Times reports.
As Skyfall continues as a box office scorcher around the globe, plans are under way for a 2014 release of the next 007 instalment, followed in 2016 by Craig's fifth turn in the tuxedo.
But the Bond film star put aside his glitzy premiere appearances on Sunday to pay a surprise visit to British personnel stationed at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.
The 007 actor, left, joined 800 soldiers, sailors and airmen at the base in Helmand Province as they prepared to watch the latest instalment in the spy series. The visit saw him see soldiers train, call in on patients and staff at the camp's Bastion Role 3 Hospital and go for a spin in the Foxhound armoured vehicle.
