TV star to play Anna Nicole

Agnes Bruckner has signed up to play tragic Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith in a new TV movie.

The Private Practice star will portray the reality TV star and former pin-up in a biopic for US network Lifetime.

The film will tell the story of how small-town Texas girl Vicky Lynn Hogan became blonde bombshell Smith, the model who famously married 89-year-old oil mogul J Howard Marshall and went on to become a pop culture icon before her death in 2007.

The Anna Nicole Smith Story comes after Lifetime bosses hired Lindsay Lohan to play Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick, which is scheduled to air in November.
