British pop star Jessie J has been credited with pulling a young girl out of a coma after singing to her during a hospital visit.

The singer made a trip to see Tyla Atkin, 6, who was critically injured in a car crash.

During the visit to London's Great Ormond Street Hospital, Jessie J sang the youngster's favourite song, Rainbow.

Just hours after Jessie J left Atkin woke up - and the girl's mother Michelle Hart is convinced the pop star's visit is to thank for her daughter's recovery.

"Doctors say you have to keep talking to people in comas to keep them focused and connected," Hart told Britain's The Sun newspaper.

"I believe Jessie J saved Tyla. She gave my daughter back to me. I'm so grateful."
