Kimmel to wed top writer on his show

Jimmy Kimmel didn't have to look too far for his new fiance.

The comedian is newly engaged to girlfriend Molly McNearney. His spokesman, Lewis Kay, said on Wednesday that Kimmel popped the question during a recent vacation in South Africa's Kruger National Park.

McNearney is the co-head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live. They started dating in 2009, after Kimmel's breakup with comic Sarah Silverman.

Kimmel is 44 - 10 years older than his fiance. The engagement was first reported by People magazine.
