Attadale music lover Lauren Bettridge won an online competition to meet Dolly Parton before her performance at Burswood Dome on Tuesday night.
Describing herself as a lifelong Dolly fan, the 23-year-old cheekily asked the country icon to be her godmother.
"She accepted, I'm not sure if she realises the degree to which I'm actually taking her up on that," Bettridge joked to AAA yesterday.
"I've been a Dolly fan as long as I can remember. Growing up, my home was always filled with some kind of music and Dolly was often it.
"My dearly departed Nanna always had a strong appreciation for a good banjo, so I like to think I'm keeping the country music tradition alive."
Bettridge was among 13,000 fans at Parton's first Australian show in 24 years.
The country superstar will hold a press conference in Sydney today, before the tour continues in Adelaide on Saturday."I really just love her because she's, well, Dolly," Bettridge said. "Also because I admire the sassy business sense combined with that sweet, sweet voice."
