A joint venture between Viento and an indigenous company in the Pilbara has won a $5 million road maintenance contract with Rio Tinto.
The company, KVG Joint Venture, is a joint venture between the ASX listed, Perth-based contractor and Koodaideri Pty Ltd, an indigenous owned and operated business run by members of the Banyjima and Kariyarra language group of the central Pilbara.
KVG will perform access road maintenance grading and irrigation pivot clearing and road construction for the mining giant's Nammuldi mine's expansion works.
KVG also recently completed a contract for Rio Tinto in Port Hedland earlier this year.
Viento shares closed off one cent, or 3.7 per cent, at 26 cents.
