Shares in scooter manufacturer Vmoto jumped on some rare good news that the company had secured a manufacturing and supply agreement with Malaysia's Eclimo.

Under the terms of the deal, Eclimo has put down a 30 per cent deposit to supply an initial 500 semi knocked down rolling chassis units of its 110S model electric scooter to for amalgamation with electric motors supplied by KLD Energy Technology, of the US.

"The 500 units will be shipped in two parcels, with the first 200 expected to be delivered in early August and the remaining 300 by the end of October 2011," Vmoto said in a statement.

The deal contains a five-year extension clause with a minimum order of 2000 units per annum.

The units will be built at Vmoto's Nanjing facility in China.

The company also announced TNT Courier Services of Italy had paid the deposit for the first 33 units to be delivered under a previously announced agreement for 180 units of its 120SD Delivery Scooter.

"Representatives of TNT will visit the Vmoto manufacturing facility in Nanjing later this month for discussions regarding ongoing cooperation," Vmoto said.

The company also announced it had completed an exclusive distribution agreement with Canada's Saturana Green Systems for distribution of Vmoto's electric scooters in Canada and Brazil.

Under a three-year agreement, SGS must buy 1000 units to the end of 2011 and a further 4000 units to the end of 2012.

Vmoto expected deposit on the first shipment this month.
