Perth's median house price rose 2.2 per cent in the three months to the end of September to $460,000, according to the Real Estate Institute of WA.

The city's median unit price rose 1.9 per cent to $385,000 in the period, while the residential vacancy rate stood at 4.8 per cent, a 14-year high, it said.

"The good news is that this is a recovery in house prices of 5.7 per cent from the same time last year and points to steady growth over the medium term," REIWA President Alan Bourke said in the statement.
