Wall St, commodity gains tipped to boost ASX

The Australian share market is likely to open higher on Friday following strong gains on Wall Street and among commodity prices.

At 5.06am on the Sydney Futures Exchange, the September share price index contract was 42 points higher at 4607.

In economic news, the Housing Industry Association State and National Outlook for the June quarter comes out.

In equities, The Warehouse Group releases its annual results.

Department store Myer released its annual result and may include information about listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

The Australian share market closed just over one per cent higher on Thursday on investor exuberance and labour data that showed a steady unemployment rate.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 48.6 cents, or 1.07 per cent, at 4570.8, while the broader All Ordinaries rose 46.4 cents, or 1.02 per cent, to 4573.5.
