Navitas extends UMass Boston deal

Navitas says it has signed a 10-year extension to its agreement with University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) for its University Pathway program.

The agreement has been renewed under materially similar terms and conditions but with a term of 10 years (compared to the previous term of five years).

Navitas said renewals for agreements with the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth) for pathway colleges on their campuses were being negotiated and were expected to be finalised shortly.

The partnership with UMass Boston was established in 2010.

Navitas chief executive Rod Jones said the company was pleased to extend its strong and successful relationship with UMass Boston.

"UMass Boston has a rich history and is an innovative and enterprising educational institution which we are proud to partner with," he said.

UMass Boston Provost Winston Langley said the university saw the agreement extension as driving the next stage of the internationalisation of the university.

Navitas shares were up five cents, or 1.08 per cent, to $4.67 at 7.35am.
