Police investigating attempts to steal automatic teller machines are warning business owners to ensure their premises are well secured.
The South Metropolitan District Crime Team is investigating two unsuccessful attempts to steal ATMs from businesses in Yangebup and Kardinya over the past two days.
"During the early hours of October 3, offenders have smashed their way into an IGA store in Yangebup and tried to steal an ATM, but have been unsuccessful," police said.
"During the early hours of October 4, offenders have gained entry to the Kardinya Shopping Centre and have made an attempt to remove the cash compartment from an ATM before abandoning their attempt.
"Stolen motor vehicles have been used in both burglaries, later located by police - abandoned.
"Business owners are reminded to ensure their premises are secure, alarmed and CCTV is working."Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
