FMG makes new board appointments

Fortescue Metals Group has appointed former Heytesbury chief executive Elizabeth Gaines and former Worley Parsons managing director Peter Meurs to its board.

Mr Meurs, who began working at FMG in May 2010 as Director (Development), will join the board as an executive director while Ms Gaines, who is an executive director at Jetset Travelworld Group, will be a non-executive director.

FMG shares were up five cents, or 1.04 per cent, to $4.85 at 9.05am.
