Jones named Deloitte Australia chairman

Recently retired Deloitte Perth managing partner Keith Jones has been named the chairman of Deloitte Australia, replacing former Queensland premier Wayne Goss.

Mr Jones announced his retirement last month after nearly 40 years with the firm and 15 years as head of the Perth office.

Under his stewardship, Deloitte's staff numbers in WA leapt from about 100 to more than 500 as it has bulked up to meet the surging demand for services flowing from the resources boom.

The WA office boasted revenue exceeding $110 million last financial year.
