Bunbury's cappuccino strip on Victoria Street will undergo a revamp which includes spilling restaurant and cafe alfresco areas onto parking bays.
The changes were approved at last week’s full council meeting after consultation with the street’s traders.
The strip, starting at the Rose Hotel and ending at the Bunbury Tower, will be improved with upgrades to paving and drainage.
Proposals to close the strip to traffic and turn it into a mall or convert traffic to one-way system have been shelved after talks with the CBD traders.
The plans, which are part of a revamp of the streetscape, recommend halving the number of on-street parking bays from 20 to 10 to allow for more outdoor dining for restaurants and cafes. The new magazine for a new generation of West Australians.Click here to download the current edition »
