Ian Trahar has put a 3720sqm beachfront property in one of the South West's top dress circles on the market in the hope of snaring as much as $10 million.
The property is on Fern Road in Eagle Bay, one of the South West's best addresses.
Fern Road property owners include Michael Chaney, Lloyd Zampatti, Peter Fiore and Toby Heyring. Alan and Kylie Brierty, who founded the namesake civil construction and mining services company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, late last year paid $4.4 million for Warren Anderson's Fern Road property.
Listed with Stocker Preston's Peter De Chiera, the Trahar property does not have a home but features 40m of beach frontage.
Mr De Chiera has likened the property to an "absolute beachfront lot" at Eagle Bay that sold for more than $10 million in 2007.
Mr Trahar could not be reached for comment.
It is understood the low-profile Perth businessman, who already owns a holiday house in the South West, is not desperate to sell.
Expressions of interest for the Fern Road property close at the end of this month.
Landgate records state that Mr Trahar's Gabor Holdings paid $1.27 million for the property in 1999.
Property prices in the South West have been patchy since the onset of the global financial crisis but dress circle addresses such as Fern Road remain sought after.A former banker turned deal maker, Mr Trahar owns a substantial empire that includes the Revesco Aviation luxury aircraft charter business, electrical goods maker Arlec Australia and the controlling stake in listed carbon storage company CO2 Group. _The West Australian _Rich List last year valued Mr Trahar's fortune at $152 million.
