A Manjimup businessman has raised more than $2000 for men’s health.
Manjimup Wesfarmers Insurance agent Daniel Terrigno raised $2354 for this year’s Movember campaign and is encouraging men to get a check-up from their GP.
The sudden growth of moustaches that appear on men’s face in the months leading up to November are a result of the annual cause which aimed to raise awareness about men’s health including prostate cancer and mental health.
Mr Terrigno said he was proud to have raised the funds from donations and took advantage of his facial hair to highlight the campaign’s key message.
“I made people aware of the cause and the message behind it and people were happy to donate,” he said.
“The money was raised through donations from clients, work colleagues and friends.
“As long as the message is getting across and encouraging more men to visit their doctor for a check up to see if they are in good health, then I’m happy.”
Mr Terrigno said he would continue to let his face play host to a cause-inspired moustache in coming years.
The “Mo Bro” has also raised money by taking part in Dry July, an annual charity event whereby participants are sponsored to give up alcohol for a month.“I did it in 2010 and 2011, raising $1500 in both years,” he said.
