NRW wins $133m work at Port Lambert

Mine services contractor NRW has been awarded a $133 million contract for work at Rio Tinto's Cape Lambert port expansion.

The works include the stockyard, conveyor link earthworks, relocation of water pipelines and rail formation earthworks for the Port B project in the Pilbara.

NRW will excavate and crush rocks to produce one million tonnes of pavement material and construct 5km of sealed roads.

These works will be undertaken over 48 weeks and up to 270 people will be employed on the project .

The project will be undertaken as a joint venture with the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation, which represents traditional owners.

NRW was down 1.1 per cent, 2.5 cents, to $2.225 at 1.40pm.
