Mix 94.5 was again Perth's number one radio station in the sixth radio ratings survey for 2012 but Nova 93.7 is hot on their heels.

The Subiaco-based station shed 0.7 of a percentage point to come out on top with 14.4 percentage points.

Hot on their heels were Nova 93.7, which saw strong gains in its breakfast, morning and evening shifts to move into the second spot with 12.1 points, up from 11.3 points in the fifth survey.

Nova's biggest win was for its breakfast show featuring Nathan Morris, Nat Locke and Shaun McManus, which had the biggest growth in this survey.

The trio's show gained 2.1 points to come in with 13 points, putting them as the third most listened to breakfast show behind Eoin Cameron's popular ABC720 breakfast show, which saw no changes on 16 points, followed by Mix 94.5's The Bunch on 13.7 points.

Mix 94.5's sister station 92.9 didn't fare as well in this survey, losing 1.4 points overall, including notable loses in its breakfast shift (10.6 down from 11.8), morning shift (down 2.8 points to 8.7 points) and afternoon shift (10.3 points down from 11.9).

92.9 were able to still able to boast having Perth's number one drive show (made up of nationally syndicated programs including Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O and Fifi Box and Jules Lund), coming in with 15.5 points, closely followed by Mix 94.5's The Big Couch with 15.3 points.

Meanwhile the morning slot on ABC720, hosted temporarily by PR man John McGlue while usual host Geoff Hutchison does the Drive slot, rose 0.8 percentage points to capture 11.8 percentage of listeners, second place behind Mix 94.5, which holds 14.4 per cent of the audience.
