An unconfirmed number of contractors have been shown the door at Rio Tinto's Argyle diamond mine.
The company confirmed yesterday that as part of its transition to a fully operational underground mine, a number of construction contractors had been "demobilised".
It did not provide a number.
The company came under scrutiny in February when 350 construction workers at Argyle were axed and flown back to Perth within hours of being informed.
