UPDATE 2.35pm: Shares in Calibre Group firmed after the company announced it had won a $14 million contract in Singapore.
Calibre's subsidiary Brown Consulting will handle the construction, engineering and supervisory services on the 30km Thomson underground rail line on the Asian island nation.
Brown has already begun work on the project, which is due for completion in 2018.
The scope of works includes the supervision of the construction and completion of an underground station, launch shaft, associated tunnels, and ancillary works.
Calibre's chairman and acting managing director Ray Horsburgh said the company had targeted growth in South East Asia as an important strategic priority.
"This award builds on Brown's growing reputation on Singapore's vital rapid transport infrastructure projects," he said.
"We believe the Group is well-positioned for work on other rail and transport projects in Singapore and the region."Calibre shares closed up two cents, or 4.08 per cent, at 51 cents.
