Iron ore explorer Flinders Mines has received environmental approvals for its proposed mine in the Pilbara.
The company said its $1.1 billion Pilbara iron ore project had received environmental approvals from the State and Federal governments, allowing it to produce up to 15 million tonnes of iron ore per annum.
Flinders Mines is still seeking funding to develop the project, after a takeover bid by a Russian steel-maker fell through in July.
The company also needs to finalise arrangements to access infrastructure in the region.
Flinders Mines shares were down 0.1 cents, or 1.25 per cent, to 7.9 cents at 12.15pm.The new magazine for a new generation of West Australians.Click here to download »
