BC Iron says it is looking at new projects with its first mine remaining on track for inaugural ore shipments in December.

Managing director Mike Young said the company's Nullagine joint venture with Fortescue Metals Group in the Pilbara region was slated to reach a full production rate of three million tonnes per annum by March next year.

By June 2011, the first one million tonnes from Nullagine will have been shipped.

"We've been concentrating on getting it into production but now we're starting to look at other projects and opportunities and there are plenty out there," Mr Young told the Diggers and Dealers mining conference in Kalgoorlie.
