Indian-owned Griffin Coal has axed 17 workers from its Collie coal mine as it continues its hunt for savings to arrest losses of up to $10 million a month.
Chris Godfrey from Griffin said while regrettable, the cuts represented only 4 per cent of its employees.
"Griffin does not anticipate further reduction in workforce numbers," Mr Godfrey said yesterday.
