Shares in NRW Holdings after the company announced it had won a $140 million drilling contract with Fortescue Metals Group at its Cloudbreak iron ore mine in the Pilbara.

The four-year contract won by Action Drill & Blast is the biggest contract awarded to the NRW subsidiary to date.

The contract will begin immediately with about 100 personnel and 15 drill rigs deployed.

NRW shares were up five cents, or 2.71 per cent, to $1.895 at 7.20am.
