Torched car starts Gnangara fire

A fire started by a burnt-out car in the Gnangara Pine Plantation has burnt through about 15ha.

Fire crews from the Department of Parks and Wildlife and brigades are tracking the fire, which was reported at 2am.

A bushfire advice has been issued for the plantation, which is in the City of Swan.

A Department of Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman said the fire was moving in a westerly direction and had been contained.

The fire is burning west of Robinson Road, south of Trainor Road and east of Dollar Road.

There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.
