An electrical fault has been blamed for a spectacular car fire at Crown Perth last night.

The 2004 Nissan Maxima exploded into flames just after 8.30pm in the casino carpark.

Firefighters from Belmont brought the blaze under control about 8.47pm.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.

“It was caused by an electrical fault at the back of the engine bay,” the spokesman said.

No one was injured.

Damage is estimated at $5000.
