The production team for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie has decided to shoot scenes in Miami after cancelling filming in Vancouver due to bad weather, representatives told EFE.

Stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will spend two weeks in Miami shooting scenes, many of which will be filmed in the South Florida city's downtown.

"The downtown Miami skyline looks a lot like downtown Vancouver," production company representatives said.

Many of the scenes for the movie, directed by Sam Taylor Johnson, being filmed in Miami will be exterior shots.

The planned meeting between star Jamie Dornan and Alessandro Proto, the businessman who inspired the erotic trilogy by E. L. James.

James's trilogy will be condensed into just one film, the production company said in a statement.

Shooting will shift to Tenerife, one of Spain's Canary Islands, in February for the honeymoon scenes.
