UPDATE 8am: There has been a fatal stabbing in Balga overnight.
A man's body and a bloodied crime scene was visible from the side of the road this morning.
Forensics officers are investigating in the driveway of a home where a white car and wall are splattered with blood.
Police say the 50-year-old man died on the front lawn of a house in Princess Road about 10.30pm.
Police have confirmed a weapon was found in the nearby Princess Wellington Reserve last night. It is not known whether it was the same weapon used to injure the man.
Forensics officers are scouring bins in the reserve for further clues this morning.
Police said the people involved were known to each other.
One man is in custody and is helping police with their investigation.
Neighbour Rosemary Osborne said the first she heard of the incident was when her daughter reported police at the property last night.
Ms Osborne said she had lived in the neighbourhood for 25 years and had never heard of so many serious incidents in such a short space of time.
"There's been three incidents in the last three weeks, we've never had anything like this before," she said.
The bushland is the same place where a 16-year-old suffered a brutal bashing last Sunday. He died in hospital the following day.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything suspicious or information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 - callers can remain anonymous.
Major Crime Detectives are continuing their investigation today.
Motorists are advised that Princess Road between Wellington Crescent and Balga Avenue is blocked.
