A Vietnamese asylum seeker remains on the run after escaping with a fellow countryman from the Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre.
The men are understood to have scaled a fence at the Northam facility on Friday night.
WA Police were informed and launched an operation to locate the men.
One of the men was reportedly recaptured near the Northam Town Centre yesterday.
A spokesman for Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said the detention services provider will conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the escape.
The centre is run by security firm Serco.
"The Minister has requested that a report on this escape be provided to him together with a statement of actions taken by Serco and the Department since the last escape from Yongah Hill," the spokesman said.
