An 11-year-old boy is seriously injured after the ute he was in crashed into a tree near Bunbury last night.
The boy and five other children were in the tray of a Toyota Hilux being driven by a 19-year-old relative when it left an unsealed road and hit a tree off Henty Road, 25km east of Bunbury, about 8.20pm.
The boy, who was standing, was thrown from the back of the vehicle in the crash.
The RAC rescue helicopter airlifted the seriously injured boy to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was last night in a stable condition.
A police spokesman said the boy had some broken bones.
St John Ambulance paramedics took the other five children and the 19-year-old driver to Bunbury Hospital with minor injuries.
A police spokeswoman said inquiries were continuing regarding the possibility of charges.
