Elephant goes on street rampage in India

The scary moment a fed-up elephant went on a rampage through a street in India, while a man was perched on its back, has been caught on camera.

The vision, which was reportedly captured in the city of Kozhikode in Kerala, shows the elephant thrashing around in the middle of the street.

The large creature makes a beeline for an auto-rickshaw, pushing it across the road, before it repeatedly picks it up and drops it.

When the elephant tires of smashing the vehicle to bits, it runs off down the street, with the man still clinging to its back.

It is then that the rider spots what appears to be a piece of wood and make a leap for it, holding on for a second before dropping to the floor and running away.

The elephant, which either doesn’t notice or care that the man has gone, continues down the road, stopping at a number of shops along the way.

While elephants are usually known for their calm and caring nature, this is far from the first elephant to unleash its temper.
