A man who attempted to get in contact with his long-lost daughter by posting a hand-written note in a newsagents has been given her address after a picture of his note went viral.
Michael Hogben, 71, became estranged from his daughter Mandy when he and the girl's mother divorced more than 33 years ago.
He decided to post the heartfelt letter to his daughter on a local noticeboard in Sheerness, Kent after previous attempts to find his daughter proved unsuccessful.
"I didn't really want it to go on Facebook, I'm not on the internet," Hogben told the UK's The Daily Mail.
"I had been looking and looking, walking around the town where she lives to try and see her, and I had had enough," he said.
"I had spent years trying to do it subtly but it wasn't getting anywhere, so I had to do something drastic."
A passerby photographed the note and posted it on Facebook.
Since then the letter has been shared more than 95,000 times, with one online supporter supplying Hogben with Mandy's current address.
Despite the success of his search efforts, Hogben knows it's only the start of his journey to reconnect with his daughter.
"We've got a lot of catching up to do, if she decides to," he said.
"If she does want to have contact I wouldn't force her to do anything, I wouldn't want her to do something she was unhappy with."
