A model whose broken, burned and naked body was found in the woods may have been killed by her husband because she gave him AIDS.
The Daily Mail in London reports this morning that the disfigured body of Yulia Loshagina was found in the Ural mountains last week and a post-mortem revealed the 28-year-old Russian was HIV positive.
Loshagina's injuries were so severe she had to be identified by DNA.
Her photographer husband, Dmitry Loshagin, 37, was arrested and police are investigating his possible involvement.
Loshagina disappeared on August 22 after a rooftop party at their $1million penthouse.
Guests at party reported that Loshagina appeared to be distressed and had locked her husband and guests out on the roof, according to the Daily Mail.
The model's brother Mikhail, said: "He simply didn't bother to start looking for her. First he told us that Yulia left in the middle of the night, taking his car. Then he claimed that his car suddenly re-appeared under their window.
"I got simply fed up and went to police, claiming my sister disappeared and we suspected had something happened to her.
"He constantly changes his story. He didn't think to call police to check the car which Yulia allegedly took for fingerprints. Why? He refuses to take a polygraph test. I think it means he's got things to hide."
The Daily Mail reports that when her body was found, her brother claimed Loshagin was too busy to go and identify her. Mikhail claimed that he texted: "Busy, at picture presentation right now".
In the days after her death, Loshagin put their penthouse on the market.
He was arrested as he left on a "business trip", police said.
The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reports that he husband allegedly became furious when he learned that his wife had infected him with AIDS.
Mr Loshagin, who remains in custody, denies the accusations.
"I loved my wife," he said.
The tragic end is a far cry from the love affair between the leading local photographer and one of the region's most prominent models.
They fell in love on a shoot in India when he photographed her in a bridal dress - and proposed on the spot. The couple wed two years ago."When I saw her in a wedding dress on the back of an elephant in the Indian jungle, I went to her and proposed," he said.
