A man ordered his former lover to dunk her baby in a bucket of water while he watched it drown on the internet, police allege.
According to London's Daily Mail, British accountant Ammaz Qureshi is facing extradition to Norway over the allegations.
The 33-yearold is accused of telling Yasmin Chaudhry to put her child in the bucket as a punishment after the one-year-old interrupted their conversation on Skype by crying.
When Chaudhry, in Norway, realised the young girl wasn't breathing she called for help, telling doctors that she fell into the water by accident, the Daily Mail reports.
The toddler was unconscious when paramedics arrived and died the next day.
Chaudhry was initially arrested on suspicion of negligence over the October 2010 incident because of inconsistencies in the stories she gave police and paramedics, but is now facing a preliminary charge of murder.
The Daily Mail says Oureshi, who was not the child's father, has now been arrested and charged with unlawful killing. The baby's father lives in Pakistan.
