Women rushed to Darwin after Balgo crash

AMY WILLIAMS, The West Australian September 9, 2010, 2:42 pm

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is airlifting two women to Darwin for treatment after they were badly injured when their vehicle rolled on the Balgo-Halls Creek road this morning.

Halls Creek Police Sen. Sgt Jason Van Der Ende said the occupants had been driving from Balgo Aboriginal community's art centre and lost control on a bend in the road.

He said the vehicle, a write-off, was found between the Billiluna turn-off and the Wolf Creek turn-off, at about 6am.

One woman is believed to be in a critical condition.

RFDS said the women would be delivered to Darwin before 4pm this afternoon.
