Australian authorities have intercepted another boat load of asylum seekers not far from popular WA holiday spot Broome.

Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor said Australian Customs Vessel Holdfast Bay picked up a boat carrying 30 people early this morning 25 nautical miles north west of Adele Island, off the Dampier Peninsula.

It is the 20th boat load of asylum seekers to be picked up in Australian waters this year.
